It's harder to beat Wales than France.

It was always the group of death. 3 top nations in one group. The only one really, all the others had a top 2, with a chance for the lower 3 to squeak up.
Enjoyed atmosphere at St James park. Does a rugby team play there too or is it only football. Great venue anyway. No probs with Scotland losing to SA (expected it). Hoped for a slightly stronger performance, but makes sense not to give it 110%. Samoa is the one that matters for us to be able to go through. Was always like to be the case. Fingers crossed.
Some good games still to come in pools. France Ireland obv, but even Canada Romania etc. NZ Tonga and Australia Wales of course. Loving the skills and drama of it all. Great RWC. G

Yeah because they had no one that was a threat in their group. What if they'd had Australia in their group as well?

TRO Saracen
Fed up with all the 'hard group' talk. We ended up on this group because our ranking was shit at the time the draw was made. I think we had some Autumn tests where we could have made our ranking better and got in the next tier, but as ever, blew it. Not good enough.
Australia and Wales had the same problem, made worse by having one of their 'tough' games away at the hosts on their home ground. They had the guts and skill to prevail.
Besides I doubt Australia would call it a tough Group anyway. They won fairly easily on Saturday against a pretty limited side, and they are already through. Watched through neutral eyes that result in Saturday was never really in doubt. 20-3 at half time IIRC. The Wales game is between two qualified sides, so the intensity will be down a notch. I don;t think 'avoiding the Sprinboks in the qtr finals' is even that much of a motivator, they do not look that good.

Little Nemo - this kitten can
Last time Frame got through even though they lost 2 games in their pool. That probably wasn't fair but it was the way the games panned out. The more World Cups there are the less likely it'll be that the overall winner will have won all their games. It will be a shame if Japan don't go through though.

Correct SPR.
TRO if we had won a few games in those autumn tests we would have been top 4. New Zealand, SA, Australia, France.
As it were we were 2nd level, England, Scotland, Argentina, Ireland.
It's fine to say there were other factors, but to ignore the crap draw entirely is wrong.

Pardon me, Samoa were apparently the worlds 7th best team and Scotland were 12th best. The other 7 teams were in the pots I mentioned above.
