We had a go at a kicking tennis game with a 5m dead zone between the teams, it just tended to be static. I am developing an alternative which is a bit of rugby netball with enforced space similar to table football ie they are fixed in a zoned channel.

Interesting developments this week then;
Dates announced for the knock out rounds of the Champions Cup The Skivington affair - LI vs Gloucester ...and now players being 'stood down' at Leicester with claims and counter claims that they may be able to sue for unfair dismissal (or not if it's not dismissal - who knows?)
Locally, I've seen the Div 1 team near me meeting up for informal practice - but not much more than the backs sprinting and kicking the ball to each other.

TBF Leicester is grabbing the headlines but other than warriors and wasps, the other 9 clubs are cutting their playing staff too. The restart will be interesting, reading the Quins site at the end of June, their releases are free to play for their new clubs from July 1. So Sinks will be in a Bears shirt for the rest of the season.

Would really like to see the domestic matches start ASAP to distract the media focus away from the politics / broadcast rights which is fairly dry.
I’ve run out of classic games to watch.

Tigers seem to have set their sights on public self-destruction.
It's making me rather sad, and nostalgic for the pre-professional days when it was about the love of the game not of the money.

Reading Mark Lambert's comments I think that other clubs have handled it better. Tigers seem to have gone for the new broom approach. Dalrymple at Quins did a nice video about what was happening behind the scenes. I don't follow Tigers so not sure if they did something similar.
Pre professional days, what were those, my games teacher, England flanker and RP player was being paid , just not directly!!

S'pose he was a Sarrie then
There was always the money in the game, usually through sponsorship and other side lines which helped with the cost, but not the amounts around now and the love of the game was the reason for playing. The extra cash was a bonus, not the reason, and most had other jobs (eg. games teacher).
Tigers have never seemed to get their management out of the last century, and that includes their PR team.

He was a lovely guy and when people talk about influences on their life, he had a huge impact on mine and turned me around. He will always have a special place in my heart. Have fun
