Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

One of the hardest walks I've done - I'd recommend it but avoid June, July and August, so hot!

That's definitely on my 'to do' list! Have seen it in the distance from a cruise ship but not close up.

Hey thanks Ness! Delighted to see two in the last three days. Both from pootling along the Llangollen canal in July (a first time for me!)

For the evening visit to Chirk Castle, I did jump a gate to explore the gardens (I did have my membership card with me, but it was late in the evening and no-one was there) which is in the route trace (N.B. FE does not condone such reckless running, but the ticket office was closed).

At the sunset at Blake Mere (today's ROTD and run the day after Chirk Castle), there were Kingfishers in a small cliff next to the boat. Lovely spot with the canal right next to the Mere.
