I would mash them, add extra mashed potatoes, add some cabbage then fry it and have it with bacon.

I can never get the mashed potato to fry right. I just have hot mashed potato, instead of fried mashed potato with the nice crispy burnt bits in.
What am I doing wrong?

These were left over as in left over in a cupboard and on the verge of being slung out. I can’t be arsed with potatoes at all. By the time I have peeled a couple I’d just sling them all out

I love potato - mashed, chips, jackets are best. Roasties I can take or leave, but the ones you posted look good and boiled spuds are just a bit dull.

Love pasta more though! Carb me up!

Pasta and baked goods yes. Rice unless it’s fried no. Cous cous yes. Potatoes not really

Rice, yes in all it's forms.
Cous cous, meh.
Baked goods, oh yes; pastry not so much.

I was watching a Christmas cooking show last night (it was on and I have never seen this 'chef' before on TV despite her being very well known, so I was also a bit mesmerised by the double entendres and the food). She was cooking a side dish of cheesy potatoes, pasta and sprouts.

The question for me is - would you add bacon to that or is that overkill? She didn't. My personal thought is that it would be better with bacon bits in.
