Technical t-shirts which don't fit are good to wear to the start line of races on a cold day, then chuck on the pavement a minute before the race starts. Although cotton might also work for this... hmm.

The Ashby 20 is known for its hoodies (as well as for being generally a very well run event of course). Downside is you have to run 20 miles, which is "too bloody far", as a guy I work with might say. Despite this you get some people who run it year after year and complain that they now have 10 hoodies, as if that's the race's fault somehow.

I've forgotten what my point was. Ah well, let's hit submit anyway:

Some of the more expensive races should perhaps offer free shoes instead of a t-shirt.

Tech T-shirts do seem to be ubiquitous at the moment, but 2 years ago it seemed to be drawstring bacgs (I've got about 20), before that those crystal blocks with runners engraved in them (have a dozen of those),water bottles (got half a dozen or so), before that hats (got about half a dozen), 10 years ago it was mugs 9have about 30).

I agree witht he call for more imagination, but I think as runners we don't help. If for example we got a cloth badge (that could be ironed onto a hoodie in a cub scout badge style) then a fair few people on here would be psoting about how great that was and then race oraganisers would cotton on and then a few races would do them nec=xt year then everyone the year after that. then we'd get someone doing a RANT post about cloth badges.

TBH at least tech t shirts are useful and help our OH's by replacing old smelly kit from the house ;)

Beer is always good. Although at this years Christmas Cracker I declined beer for running bear christmas socks. Never thought I'd ever do that.

I'd prefer a cheaper entry fee.

A Buff is a better option for me than either a cotton or technical t-shirt. Otherwise, cheaper entry fees sound good ;-)

Race organisers, yes tech tees are fantastic, but I have 78 of them. Long sleeve, hi viz, big logos,...
