I am planning on running not racing it if my knee does not react adversely to my little jog of today, so will see you there. I thought it would be a patellar problem due to ITB... there are loads of stretches you can do to help you. Lets have a chat about it on Friday.

Hanneke - this is good news for you, I think - my fingers are crossed for your full recovery! Good luck with the physio, Stephen - I've just booked an appointment with one so here's hoping they can sort me out.

Max - you can join me in the frauds corner if you want, 'cos I don't feel my injury is anything like as bad as some of the poor souls on this step!!! I'm perfectly alright until I start running :-(

So I did run for 15 minutes yesterday and I feel fine. Left knee was a bit tight on the inside though, but I reckon I am almost ready to leave the step! :-)

still on the step with knee problem, and to add to which I fell off the bloody smoking wagon at the weekend. I am sooooo disappointed with myself. I was on a stag weekend, and ended up smoking when I had too much to drink. I haven't continued to smoke, I couldn't think of anything worse, but I had been doing so well. I am just devastated, my lungs feel tight when I breath in. How long is this going to set me back, never mind the knee injury!!!!!!

On the injured step forum as Im a bit of a worrier I had a "slight" burning sensation in my heel only for a few seconds and it only happened on the jog back from "up the clock speedwork" about 3 times.

Wierd any ideas what this is I've iced it and it seemed to have gone and won't run on it tonight.

Heel problems can always be a sign of plantar fasciitis, so you've done the right thing to be aware of it. I'd keep an eye on it for now and, if it returns, start to think about contributory factors (new shoes needed, maybe?). Speedwork always seems to bring on my injuries, so, when I'm recovered, I'm definitely going to take it easier in my interval sessions (famous last words ;-)).

Rach, I know what you mean. Everytime I put in some speedwork I get problems too... I reckon its not good for me, so have given up on it. Tempo runs is the fastest I will do from now on.
