Nor have I, but I've spoken to my doc who is more than happy to write one - just need to make an appt.
As for training, made 19 miles last Sunday (longest training run so far) ad aiming for 21 in 3 weeks time. though I have a 10 mile race the same weekend...

Long runs are going ok (18 miles last week, 16 on each of the two previous weeks, planning 20 this week) but all the in-between stuff has been attacked by a severe dose of CBA. Need to fix that if I'm to achieve a PiBi.

Has anyone got their medical certificate sorted yet? I have no idea what to ask my doctor for. How much did it cost if you've got yours already?

RwR, not sure if there's a standard wording on the Paris Mara site but when I had one for Nice in 2011 it read:
"I the undersigned Dr [doctor's name], Doctor of Medicine, certifies that the examination of Mr/Ms [runner's name], date of birth [DoB], age [age] reveals no contraindications for participating in running competition.
Certificate issued in [place] on [date]
Signed [Dr's sig] + stamped with Surgery rubber-stamp.
My GP gave me a quick once-over of heart & lungs, a brief chat then charged me £25 for the admin cost of filling out the form (which I had prepared, all she had to do was sign & stamp it)!
When I ran Nice again in 2012 I got one of the Fetch doctors to do it, for a small donation to the charity of her choice. Although, as we had never met, I had to solemnly promise not to keel over and die during the race.

Is there not a template on the website? i haven't actually looked but assumed there was. for the paris-versailles I had an almost identical letter to Fitz's above, the doctor was unsure about signing it but after consultation with colleagues she did, and for no charge. now if only I could remember which doctor it was so I could go back...

I've spoken to my GP on the phone, and he has done several before, but for a charge. There isn't really a template on the site, more a couple of sentences (similar to above as well), so I'm just going to set up the letter and go in asking for a signature!

CS - from closer look at the website I think as long as your letter dates within a year of the race you're ok. Given that I'm not actually registered with a doctor right now I think I should take the critical step of getting that sorted first. Where can I find a Fetch Doctor? They sound awesome

RWR I did see that but mine very specifically says it is for the Paris-Versailles so I think i would rather get another specific one. That and I'm not sure what I've done with the letter

Dick!
I have got my medical certificate every year free of charge . If you are raising money for charity no Doc worth his salt would charge you . There is a template you print off on the official site , that works every year for me
