I'll probably make a week of it and travel on somewhere else in France. If you're looking for cheap accommodation, try Formule 1, Ibis and Mercure hotels. Usually a bit out of the way, e.g. in commercial districts rather than tourist hot-spots, fairly basic but perfectly adequate for a short trip.

Brian if I was going on my own I would probably look at what sports tours offer in terms of travel and accommodation.

Still have a med cert from May last year so that should do me for Paris.

No accom arranged yet but making a big trip of it: Paris on the Friday night, off to Reims on the Monday for a couple of days of champagne-quaffing, then to Athlone in Ireland for a wedding, Dublin for our anniversary, then home. It sounds like the holiday will be more knackering than the marathon :-)
