I think they were called sports eye or something. Took a few weeks and come with 5 interchangeable lenses for about £180. varifocals bit works but not as well as my normal glasses.

I do have a "clear" pair for wearing in formal photographs (i.e. Weddings!) so I don't forever look like a panda in someone else's albums, but for normal use I only ever wear the one pair. I also don't feel bad about replacing them fairly frequently now having found cheap(er) on-line sources!

(I think because there's less to go wrong, and they wouldn't have let you donate one if the other wasn't in pretty good shape.) OTOH, he did also once tell me that it's a good day when no-one under his care dies.
