Didn't like trifle as a kid, but quite like it now. Funny how your taste buds change over life?

Trifle was an integral part of a family celebration when I was growing up. It used to share the Christmas teatime table with a massive ham and a Party Seven.

Although as the saying goes, I've never met a calorie I didn't like. (Not quite true - liver, and ginger flavoured anything are off the menu.)
I'm an omnivorous lover of most things sweet and savoury, carby, lean, fatty, fried, grilled, steamed, roast, boiled or raw! That's one of the reasons why I run....

Party Seven! Memories of going to school friends parties, and all the lads bragging the following day that they’d each drunk a whole Party Seven.

I've got a party 4 tin in the attic still! Made it into a control line reel, vintage 1977 I think 🤔

Local brewery pubs where I grew up (Hartley’s) used to do 4pint take outs to fill and take bitter home after 10:30 closing time. Few mates tried taking lager home in them which always ended in the relief cap blowing and people getting sprayed 🤣

I used to brew my own beer in a bucket in my airing cupboard. My mates and I would come home from school sometimes and drink it at lunchtime. It wasn't great but it definitely contained alcohol.

Drinking at lunchtime D. You’re a very naughty philosopher. Just like your mate Aristotle.
