Good piece on the Radio Box this afternoon regarding the 400,000 tickets that are as yet unsold with less than 2 weeks to go. The most salient point being made was that if you happened to live close to the venues, it would be possible to simply buy some and rock up after work or the like, but for those who *don't* and would have to arrange their lives, travel, accomodation and the like around getting these last minute 'bargains' it is essentially impossible!

Having lived and breathed (and at times sick of it) the place for the last few years, I can't wait. Got Hockey tickets and last evening session in the Olympic Stadium.

I'm sure a lot of thse unsold tickets are for events like the first round of the womens football. Something like Mongolia Vs Cyprus in the first round at Hampden( I made that up, I have no idea if that match is on at Hampden or anywhere else).

I just got on and the athletc tickets are mainly 425 up. Opening ceremony 2 grand and closing 1500 quid.
It also says swimming tickets available at 185 quid but I tried to get a couple and it won't let me.

as much as i would enjoy athletics for a decent session (ie a competition where i care about the outcome like men's 5k or 10k final) i am not paying 2x 400 quid for it. what they need to do is drop the price. and then I'll buy some

yes...clay shooting!!!! (Olympic skeet actually)...if they actually showed more than a small snippet. That's what is great about the Olympics, the sports that get less TV coverage get some air time. I can't wait 'til the Olympics.

So looking forward to the Olympics! There's a work night out on opening ceremony night though, thankfully I have a good excuse as the kids will be just back from a week away.
