So we haven't got a thread for this yet. Or have we? No, not the tickets thread.
Here's a nice handy place to moan about transport woes, scoff at immigration queues, bewail the thought of beach volleyball players covered up in leggings and long sleeves due to the cold, marvel at the site of army camps blossoming in parks around the M25 (Hainault if you're interested), oh yes, and mention the odd aside about sporting victory.
First one to post about Jess Ennis loses.

My annual leave is cunningly booked to allow me a square-eyed extravaganza of sport, politics and hyperbole.

Just to be clear, I think Jess Ennis is wonderful and a brilliant hope for gold. But the poor girl is so over-exposed and she doesn't seem like an attention seeker. I keep meaning to count the number of times I see her on a poster / telly / in a field with double points if she's got those awesome abs out) but I keep losing count by 10am.
I saw Mo Farah beat the Cube last night. That sounds more exciting than it was.

I caught the last few rounds of Farah in the Cube. Made me think how crap normal people are. Apparently nobody had ever done it before and he made it look easy.

And another: my college's Principal was a squeak away from playing hockey for GB in the 1996 Olympics.

Who's gonna light that BBQ thing on Friday week?
I reckon Beckham ruling himself out is a cunning feint; him, Vicky and that whole brood of kids will do it jointly. Aaaahh how lovely *voms* *wakes up sweating profusely*
Looking forward to the whole gig profusely, but will dodge the opening ceremony.

Oh and my Olympic claim to fame is swearing at Cliff Richard. The old codger is bound to pop up in the opening ceremony sometime, esp if the rain continues....
