fozzy - ch4 does have live streams of all the action, uninterrupted by adverts, studios etc. SO (eg) if you wanted to watch a triathlon, find the appropriate live feed and enjoy it without any interruptions, but with (as per cycling) Oz commentators doing a WW generic job. So very impartial (if no Aus athletes). The downside is I've yet to find a way to do that on my TV / Humax box. They don't list the live streams on there. Its either to phone or pc only and then watch there. or link phone/pc to the TV. And also no 'history', eg shortly after the feed finishes, it's gone. Not left linked somewhere to rewatch or catch up later. And as I found last night, BBC don't seem to do any reporting or updates before about 7am. So none of the overnight stuff gets a mention until they start. |

Um, I think something like an Amazon fire stick will let you watch the streaming services on your tv? I’m not really that familiar with the relevant technology as I leave all that to Mr F.

That’s a shame, best of luck for her last race, I just saw brief highlights of the time trial on the telly. I’m enjoying watching the cycling, its reminding me of watching it at Brands Hatch in 2012.

Is this an unfair perspective? Whenever I see Sarah Storey being lauded for her para-sport triumphs I can't help but think that someone who made national squads and CWG teams in the non-para sport should find it "easy" to win so much given the size of the population that are able to qualify for para-sport classifications. She is undoubtedly a hugely talented athlete and has competed across swimming and cycling in para categories for a long time (before and after competing in non-para sport winning national titles) and perhaps her behaviours and advocacy in the para sport are the real reasons why she is so widely lauded, but in cycling she appears to be practically lacking in disability in the sports she performs in so her medal tally is "to be expected". Is it wrong that I see things that way? Please put me right as it doesn't feel comfortable given how well praised she is by everyone else!! |

I think she’s phenomenal and fits fairly within her classification larkim. The whole fair/unfair advantage thing is something of a minefield whether it’s trainers or protected categories or life opportunities so I tend to focus on the spectacle with athletics - is it competitive? Is it exciting to watch? And she ticks both those categories for me. She’s grafted for all her wins, she’s not a country mile beyond all her competition and she has always considered herself a Paralympian first and foremost
