um
I don't think tonight's qualifying cycling is scheduled for mainstream TV, at least not the 2am Women's B 3000m pursuit. I can't (yet) see a way to access all the live streams on my (steam) TV or Humax Freeview box via All4. We can access all the live feeds on pc (or phone) at paralympics.channel4.com and then to TV via HDMI cable. If you're planning to watch live, prepare it early, Sophie is heat 2, so not much time to mess about. |

Just seen Stephen Park (Performance Director GB Cycling) tweet that 'every member of the GB Paralympics Track Squad is going home with a medal'. That's pretty impressive. (Or brutal selection) But great for the squad - cyclists & all the support team. They do seem to take care of the athletes. Other than the training and effort etc, Sophie can just turn, get on the bike and perform. All the logistics, bike care, set up etc is all done for her. A very professional performance. |

This is probably more about my ignorance of the parasports, but I do sometimes find it difficult to stay on top of the different categories in the different sports (and some times different disciplines within sports) and the narratives regarding the various sports and the results. I've been watching the paratriathlon for the past couple of nights and enjoying it immensely as a sport, but obviously at some point I go to bed and then miss the end of the races and then find it difficult to work out what happened. Maybe it's simply that for the Olympics, the broadcaster (BBC) is linked with the best sports news site (BBC) and the two tie in. C4 doesn't have the same online presence with such clear coverage and so makes it harder to follow. I sometimes find the way C4 jumps from sport to sport a bit harder to follow too. But the BBC does that too at times. |

I do think the C4 production values are a bit rough around the edges at times though. Do voiceovers/intros to the stock shot of the Paralympic symbol in Tokyo bay, rather a presenter in a studio doing links properly is a bit annoying. |
