Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

It's odd - until Greppers mentioned it I didn't have any doubt at all that they survived. I think that's the implication anyway as the story is largely about Kevin (via Olive's probing) getting back his own will to live.

Like McG, I had no doubt they survived, until I read other people’s doubts.

Every plot summary I have seen refers to him 'saving her'.

I think I'd quite like to see the TV miniseries now to see what they made of this.

In other news, I just finished Olive, Again tonight and loved just as much.

I just read it...
Call me a pessimist but... Not saved! In my view, regardless of Olive's shouts for help, they drown...

I thought this was going to be very Anne Tyler-esque. I like a bit of Anne Tyler but she gets a bit samey after a while and there’s a coolness about them. This got a lot more raw and a lot more interesting. I really liked it. Still a very certain world certain perspective but I thought Olive a tremendous character
