Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Enjoyed Star Wars but don’t think I’ll bother with 4DX thing again. The wobbly chairs, little punches in the back and puffs of air in your ears are quite annoying after a while.

My home blood pressure measurements are always much lower than those at my renal clinic appointments.
I took my monitor with me to clinic today to compare with hospital machine.
The results were the same.

ER would you mind telling me which BP monitor you use? I want to purchase one to use at home as I don’t believe my BP is as high as it reads at GP/hospital appointments, I think it’s white coat syndrome. I am currently refusing medication.

TR, I’m pretty certain it is white coat syndrome, but I thought that it was worthwhile checking mine against the hospital’s every couple of years just in case.

Mrs Jigs, I use an A&D UA767, which is a type available from lots of chemists (or was. I’ve had this model for about 8 or 9 years).

I think that the important thing about doing home BPs is to adhere to the instructions and allow a little period of rest before taking the reading.

My home readings are typically 120/60. This morning’s were about 160/75 on both.
