Sushi.
I miss the silly goodie bags and Tom Potson.

I got a spot prize of a salt and pepper set one year.

The year we got socks was great. One of the best pairs of running socks I've had.

Maybe. Any idea what year that was? I’ve done this race a few times!

I have a question that I am sure you can all help with.

I am considering doing 52 half marathons in 52 weeks. I live half a week in the Black Country and half a week in Salford.

Ideally, to save costs, I'd like to do as many halves that are in the NW as possible, and I think I know of most of the usual suspect half marathons, but which ones would you recommend and why?

I probably won't start until I do the Manchester Half (same day as the full Marathon) in Oct - unless I also look at the Great Manchester Half as well which is a couple of weeks before I think.

Hi Vixx

I was going to suggest the Chester 1/2 but it’s the 12 Sept so maybe too early for you.
It’s usually May so one to remember for next year. The Chester events are always really good.

The Four Villages 1/2 in Helsby is the 16/1/22. Another good event and Manchester side of Chester.

I’ve been to Lytham St Anne’s for the Windmill 1/2 today. Was a nicely run event.

Wrexham 1/2 is maybe another one to look at.

Let us know which ones you do up this way.
I’ll be hoping to do some if not all of those.

Wilmslow Half, usually in March. Another vote for Helsby in February. Blackpool is also a good one although might clash with Helsby. Liverpool I personally hated but lots of people like it (May for the Rock n Roll).

Chester in May is way better than Liverpool

Cheaper and better organised.

Chris and Andy that run the Chester events are runners too and not some huge international faceless organisation.

Warrington has a half too. I’ve marshalled it but never run it.

Not sure that one’s still going is it? There was the English Half in Warrington, perhaps that’s the one I mean.

There's a Warrington Festival of Running that keeps popping up on my FB. Don't think it's the same peeps.

I have unlucky form with the Chester Marathon. Have entered 3 times and been ill each time :( The Half might be better luck :)
