Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Wow, what an honest account. So sorry for Rob in this. Across some of the local races I've seen a fair amount of vitriol over the years against private race organisers, most of whom are just one man bands seeking to run events for a combination of personal profit (why not?) but also because of their desire to put on something great for local runners.

First and foremost I truly hope he gets the help and support he needs, and as a secondary consideration those around him manage to help him find a mechanism for recompensing runners who are out of pocket.

It really shouldn't have put him in that position.

I genuinely can't believe that anybody's first thought after reading that statement is "what about my refund" (as demonstrated by a few Facebook comments)!!!

Indeed. If I was being charitable I'd suggest they hadn't read the full post, but I have to be very charitable to think like that.

Yes, everyone deserves their cash back. But that statement makes it abundantly clear that Rob will be doing whatever he can within his power to sort out the mess that he finds himself in.
