Hi all..Those of you who were in New York (and I'm sure many others) know of the tragic passing away of Ryan Shay during the US Men's Olympic Marathon trials in Central Park the day before the regular marathon. If you plan to run on Saturday November 17th, perhaps you could dedicate your run to Ryan. It's a simple but fitting way to honor his life. Thanks..BD Here's the link to the originator of the idea: completerunning.com |

Thanks Girlie. And congratulations on your run in NY! I'm sorry we never got to meet. You'll just have to come back and run it again! Hope your family had fun too! |

Jolguk: Glad you had a good time! You need to come back too! There's nothign quite like New York Pizza (especially after a marathon). Sorry you had problems on the Verrazano...it's a tricky part of the run with all the discarded clothing everywhere. And I'll definitely second that it's a tough course. THis was my second crack at it, and though I managed to knock 37 minutes off my first try, I will confess that for the last 4 miles I was on the 'business end of a butt-whooping'. They seemed to take forever. But the good folks in Central Park made sure I got through... |

I definitely would do it again - my photos are under 42431, Cant believe I crossed the finish line with a penguin!!!! Felt sick from mile 17 so didn't appreciate the crowds beyond that but what a day and what support - don't think there is anything like it. Thanks NY |

I was 45474 - what time did you cross the start line? P.S. Thoroughly enjoyed the events leading up to the marathon and the day itself |
