Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Hi all..Those of you who were in New York (and I'm sure many others) know of the tragic passing away of Ryan Shay during the US Men's Olympic Marathon trials in Central Park the day before the regular marathon. If you plan to run on Saturday November 17th, perhaps you could dedicate your run to Ryan. It's a simple but fitting way to honor his life. Thanks..BD

Thanks Girlie. And congratulations on your run in NY! I'm sorry we never got to meet. You'll just have to come back and run it again! Hope your family had fun too!

Jolguk: Glad you had a good time! You need to come back too! There's nothign quite like New York Pizza (especially after a marathon). Sorry you had problems on the Verrazano...it's a tricky part of the run with all the discarded clothing everywhere. And I'll definitely second that it's a tough course. THis was my second crack at it, and though I managed to knock 37 minutes off my first try, I will confess that for the last 4 miles I was on the 'business end of a butt-whooping'. They seemed to take forever. But the good folks in Central Park made sure I got through...

I definitely would do it again - my photos are under 42431, Cant believe I crossed the finish line with a penguin!!!! Felt sick from mile 17 so didn't appreciate the crowds beyond that but what a day and what support - don't think there is anything like it. Thanks NY
