Was -5 degrees here at 7 a.m. Now crept up to -2. That's outside. I'm inside.

Didn't have a good sleep but I'm sure a walk will lift the headache

Is the register purely for roll call purposes, in case of a fire, perhaps?

In more bin- related news, our food bin, which was not collected on Friday, and which, I was told when I phoned to complain on Monday, was due to be collected yesterday, has *still* not been emptied. This is completely unacceptable, country's gone to the dogs, what on earth do we pay our council tax for, etc.

They just announced on the radio that our council tax is going up 4% this year, making a band D about £40 a year more. Excuse me, what about the extra £35 we're being charged this year to empty our garden bins this year? Of course, you will have conveniently forgotten that, eh?

Ah but is the garden bin charge optional AR? That's what they did here, stopped the free garden waste collection and charge £36 pa if you want it collected kerb-side. Otherwise you have to take it to the tip yourself. I resisted for a long while but I'm now contemplating paying for a second bin:-(

I know that LD, but it's still a rise by the back door. I've just brought my other bins in. My little bin has mess and a puddle of water in it. I keep my rubbish clean so I don't have to clean my bin. :-p It probably won't be going out for about a month now as I won't be here much for the next few weeks.

I have replaced the batteries in the TV remote.

The old ones were flat, so it wasn't working.
