alpenrose Oct 2023 1:22pm, 13 Oct 2023 61,266 posts	0 alpenrose I've never used a self-scan at the supermarket, I prefer to use a proper checkout and keep someone in work but if the queue's too long and I only have a few bits I will go to the self checkout. It's always annoying as you have to wait probably on average about 3 times for help. Did a bit yoga this morning, first time since before lockdown. Lunchtime.

I no longer have the patience to load it onto the belt then pack and unpack. I also pack better when I’m not having my shopping thrown at me as scan at 100mph. Crackers and cheese for lunch.

I work on the basis that check out staff have been replaced with the people who pick for the home delivery orders and the delivery drivers. There are still jobs. In the Blue supermarket that I frequent in Ellon, they employ people just to have conversations with each other, the amount of staff standing around yapping is unreal at any time of day.
