Going back to Gt Expectations, I fear not even Olivia Coleman can save it. The first episode dragged, Joe Gargery looked nowhere near strong enough for a blacksmith, Pip was too old, the scene in the graveyard with Magwitch wasn't remotely scary and the lighting was all wrong. The use of all the swear words just seemed quite childish on the part of the writer - 'Ooh, we'll put naughty words in to shock people' sort of thing.

Can you tell I won't be watching the rest of it?

Trying to remember the name of a comedian I saw at the Komedia in Brighton about 9 years ago. Strangely, I can’t.

A comedian I saw at the Edinburgh Festival in about 1985 has just received a prize for Management Book of the Year. Bit weird.

I have replaced the batteries in the TV remote.

The old ones were flat, so it wasn't working.
