Good ones are wonderful, Fields. Completely separate beast from plain/sweet ones.

I will try a cheese scone some time but assume better to avoid supermarket ones

There were cheese scones where we just stopped for coffee but I had apple and blackberry frangipane.
I’d far rather have frangipane than a cheese scone. I’m currently eating a strange assortment of things I fancied for a late lunch. Took dog for a walk somewhere different and then stopped at the supermarket.

I made some tomato soup in the soupmaker using some tomatoes we got from the oddbox. The idea was to freeze it and have it for lunch next week, but we ate it.

Supermarket cheese scones are a bit insipid but better than some of the hockey pucks I've struggled to eat in cafés.

I don’t get the whole fuss with scones. The thing where some people call them ‘scons’ The nonsense about which way you put the vile clotted cream and the jam on. Really good fresh ones with butter and jam are okay, but really; no not for me

I don't put clotted cream and jam, or jam and clotted cream, on cheese scones, though I quite like jam and Wensleydale or Brie on plain scones.
