And regret I was working on a basic costing for workshops and teaching/courses next year, when my building is done. Conservatively, I should be able to just about make a living without having to garden... But I will need to do some design work.

there are calls to have designated petrol stations for essential works due to fuel issues
As I'm in the err "food industry" I'm apparently (hahaha) a key worker
so what's the difference between a key worker and essential worker?!

Dunno, Pix. I’d be stuck if I had still been in my teaching post because I was getting through a tank of fuel in a week. As alternative it would have been a three mile walk to the train station in Nuneaton, a 45 minute train journey and a one mile walk at the other end. The train ticket was expensive too!

if i was teaching still I couldn't get to work unless I cycled which means you can't carry marking etc and at 20m each way very time consuming but quicker than public transport as nearest train station is loughborough!
I'm happy to cycle to work but this morning's rain would be a no! Happy t get soaked coming home but no where to dry clothes at work
It's only 20-25mins ride so even if you get really cold not bad but again warming up at work ... no shower! Not great

I carry gardening tools. No public transport here. I will have to drive once quarantine is over... I so regret that I CBA before my trip to fill my 4 petrol cans for the mower... That is 20 litres I could do with... Also, I should have filled up at 3 am, before arriving home... There probably would still have been fuel.
Stupid thing is, as Pix can testify, it is a HGV driver shortage, not a petrol one!!!

Shame about the lack of shower facilities, Pix.
I was supposed to be taking my mum out for a day in Stratford Upon Avon. I’m thinking of postponing that until this fuel thing blows over. It’s extra mileage I don’t need to do.

Good thinking Ness. In a way my tedious and ever so expensive quarantine falls at the right time!!!

and in this instance the fuel "crisis" has been caused 100% by the media saying we will run out deliveries are happening as normal but more people panic buying means it's running out and causing an issue from a non issue
HGV drivers can't driver petrol lorries but petrol drivers can driver normal HGV lorries
Because there is an issue with normal deliveries the media said there will be petrol issues and created as self fulfilling prophecy

Plenty of fuel at Asda in currently sunny Workington, it would appear.
Oops, apologies. At a desk.
