Hey, guess what I’m doing again this afternoon? I’m shifting furniture once more, this time clearing our bedroom so I can put down a new second-hand carpet

Rich - some yers ago I felt aggrieved at being charged about £100 for a fence repair, whan I reckoned it took him (yes, it was a man) about 30 mins to dig out a rotten post, put in a concrete spur and re-affix the fence.
The next one, I did. Only it took me all weekend to dig out the old old. (dig out also includes the concrete it was set in - or enough of it to put in a spur).
Turns out I'd rather pay someone skilled (and strong) at it, than spend all weekend doing it myself. So the £100 wasn't to be measured vs the 30 mins it took him, more the whole weekend (and aches & pains for the rest of the week) it took me.
