Great! My Mum's Mum passed on the recipe: no pastry; egg custard - in a - bowl - cured all that ails thee!

Grandma's other speciality was chocolate mould - 'cos mousse was far too prissy a word for a West Bowling lass!

I usually do mine in pastry - but in a big dish the pastry to custard ratio is better :)

Nana used to give me egg custard for breakfast when she didn't have bacon :)

(slight tangent, breakfast on Nana and Unc's farm was usually bacon, fried leftover mashed potatoes and a fried egg - eaten after the first chores of the day and followed not too long after by 11sies of fruitcake and a chunk of cheese. no bloody wonder I struggle with my weight ;) )
