Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

DT was it puthering as in - 'the boiling water puthered out of the kettle and splashed my coffee out of the cup and all over the work surface'? If so I could use it to describe my mundane happenings this morning :-)

Puthering? sounds like the sort of word my gran used to use - but she had lots of odd words no-one quite knew what they meant!

I just looked it up - two listed meanings - a fire making lots of smoke but no flame/heat and pouring down with rain (Lincolnshire)

My Yorkshire XH used "pithering". As in, "Stop pithering about and get on with your work." It was said to him more than by him.

Thanks for the menu ideas. Most we have had relatively recently. I'm trying to add new things to the repertoire. I particularly like Thai or similar. Things that are quick and easy. So no to lasagne.

I've cobbled something together and in process of writing a shopping list. I can guarantee QP will moan about half the items on the list.

HP, carbonara, moussaka (like lasagne, you can make a huge one and freeze portions). Spinach is a quick veg.

I need to make some coffee.

We mostly eat wraps. And veggie pasta. And things from freezer. Oh and Spanish chicken type stuff - chicken, tomato, rice, peppers, butter beans, paprika - that kind of thing

And occasionally tuna and courgette fritters or sweet corn fritters - not had them for ages but I have to make something else for c9 so that would be why

I have replaced the batteries in the TV remote.

The old ones were flat, so it wasn't working.
