Grim night in grim place. Lost a filling and at risk of tmi I’ll prepared for only open bins so lay in bed worrying about toxic shock syndrome while people shouted outside till sunrise. Sticky floors to breakfast eaten amid the aroma of male urinals. Rotated cups till I found one mostly clean and had coffee. Surprisingly chipper considering

Most cheap hotels used to be rooms in pubs like this pre purple rooms as I remember it. I had one of those showers where you hold the hose and try not to let any part of it touch your flesh

At Surrey Sports Park prepared to run while son warms up for his football match. I say prepared, but I’ve forgotten my watch and, despite three successful loo visits before leaving home, I feel a little “unsettled.”
