I've read the instructions and realised that the pair I've been wearing for a few years have been worn the wrong way round. Apparently, the spikes go on the heels, not under the sole.

Dill the sprayiest bit of the M5, we find, is in the Weston-Brean area. Which by annoying coincidence, is often the stretch where the rain is heaviest.
