My garlic has been in since November, the frosty spell was axe for it. My onions didn't like it so much but ought to recover...

I bought it from Lidl in 2015 when my Dad was alive . As it grew I repotted it and just before Christmas was looking better than ever. It did spend some time outside in the Summer so perhaps that was when it got infested?

Poor thing!
I find it a mystery where mealybug comes from.
I have had plants, perfectly healthy for years, succumbing to it. Only ever house plants though.

Grrrr, I had a batch of succulents at home that thrived for ages, then bought another from another garden centre and all my succulents self-destructed in a similar manner to that photo, then died. :( I don't buy anything from that garden centre any more.

I do occasionally have a plant self destruct almost over night for no visible reason though.

That does look pretty far gone though Christmas Cactus can be tough old things and resurrect from a fairly low base. I think it depends on how sentimentally attached you are. Cold hearted common sense would say bin it and get a new one (says he with all manner of basket cases around the place) Mealy bug can be got rid of but it’s a long hard battle and requires constant vigilance. You’ll have to decide how much work are willing to put into it but as a matter of urgency quarantine it from any other houseplants you care about and keep a very beady eye on everything else

I have just wrestled with the most evil rambling rose in existence and won!
But I am not tying it in this week!

I’ve cut it down and the local garden centra guru says it was the cold frost temperatures . So it’s repotted with fresh compost that’s quite dry and is now on the windowsill in the bedroom. I have faith and will give it positive vibes every day 🙂

It certainly looked like a very sick plant, UD. Keep us informed.
