Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Velociraptor If my fuchsia is anything to go by, they hang around for ages in spring, looking thoroughly dead, and leap into life really late in the season.

Yes, bit early for fuchsias to be waking up. Obviously we have things like F. magellenica that are quite hardy and have spread all over frost-free places like the Isle of Man and Cornwall, but the rest of them will play dead until there's absolutely no chance of a frost.

Thanks :) I shall give the fuchsia the benefit of the doubt.

My Silver Birch nursery trees (all into their 2nd year now) seem to be coming back to life nicely!

I really need to mow the lawn today or tomorrow before the weather goes south again and it's dry!

Giant fuschia is starting in leaf (was pruning it earlier), the other medium and tiny ones are still ninja.

I’ve just planted some Verbina bonariensis seeds. Apparently from early sewing it may flower this year.

I need to think about starting off the seeds VP gave me for Christmas. And getting a selection of sunflowers.

Grass cut. A bit of desultory weeding too!

I've got seedlings on the windowsills that have sprouted much quicker than I expected in the warmth of the past few days that I think will have to go and live in the greenhouse to cool down a bit and get properly established.
