While I put my apprentice to work picking elder flowers and laying them out to dry in the drying shed, I weeded, staked, planted and watered! A fabulous arrangement! Two happy people!

What are your plans for the dried elder flowers? I know you can make elderflower fritters (have tried it, - messy business) but that's with fresh ones.

You want to dry quickly, without too much light to preserve cour and flavour. So I have blinds in my drying shed. Ventitlation is key.

The garden seems to have survived me being away for a week, and the dry weather. Except the roe deer has been back and eaten all of the Geranium x magnificum flowers.

Looks fab jacdaw! I am about to inspect flattening by rain, which arrived at last last night and turned from perfect and gentle to torrential.
