Rosehip
I think that's what mine are Fizz , if they appear this year (only seen a few so far, but they'll be all over the place soon) I shall harvest them (and save some seeds for V'rap)

I'm hoping that it doesn't rain at the weekend so I can cut my grass at long last. :)

I have just built a raised bed for my vegetable seeds. Okay, so its a bit twee, but I love that things I always wanted to do are now possible with all this extra time. My parents and theirs were great growers. So far I have just grown apples, pears, a shy gooseberry plant and a giant bay tree. oh and accidentally some potatoes.

There are always a few rogue potatoes popping up in my raised beds despite me being sure I have cleared the last lot. Bought a couple of packs from Wilco a while ago, chitting nicely, hope to get them in this weekend. My plot is quite cool and shady, I can only successfully grow spuds, garlic and peas.

My Onion sets, Carrots and Leek plants are in the bed. I'll leave the brassicas for a few days.

My greenhouse (self assembly!) arrived yesterday. Moving the glass panes was scary.... :-) . I've dug out the space ready.

The 2 fence panels which need to be replaced behind where it's going, and the slabs for the base are supposed to be arriving today. They should have arrived last Friday, but apparently Wincanton who deliver for Wickes only have one lorry. It broke down. I'm not sure I believe the excuse, TBH.

Another day of hard labour ahead.

Sourcing compost/seed compost is also something I'm trying to think of a solution to with all the garden centres being closed :(

I did just discover a seed company which helps provide water to people in Africa with every packet sold :) and they delivered really quickly (although their stocks are running low for many varieties) - groseeds, they have their own website or you can buy them through Amazon.

WS, you are right, parsnips do OK and I am trying broad beans this year. I love brassicas but so do the cabbage whites😊 and I haven’t found a mesh I am happy with yet. Still, the birds are happy with any caterpillars I find going on the feeding table!

I used a mesh on my brassica this winter and was mortified to find a blue tit had got caught up and I hadn't noticed. I'm never using it again, I'd rather go without green veg. :(
