I've just been out and bought cabbage, calabrese 🥦, purple sprouting broccoli, leeks and carrot 🥕 plants, to give me a bout of a leg up early in the season. They'll sit under the cloche for a few days to finish hardening off, and to give me time to dig over and de slug the veg bed. I've also got tomato 🍅, squash, courgette French bean and pea seeds to start off. Plus whatever veg seeds I find in the shed!
And sweet peas because we need something beautiful, as well as edibles.
Planning to order a greenhouse later. 😊

I need more strawberry plants...and some netting to keep the birds from munching on them this year.

One of the things that might come out of all this is people growing food, as well having an eye out for others, fingers crossed.

In these times, perhaps it would be prudent for allotment holders and farmers to review the security of their crops and livestock, although how one would do this I can't imagine.

Broad beans beginning to germinate. I don't have a greenhouse so they are on a windowsill where it is unlikely the mice will get them.

Fizz :-)
My tomatoes and cucumber sowed last weekend have already germinated.
You’ve got to love a seed, they’re amazing.

My fruit list
Blackcurrants, five varieties Redcurrants, maybe two Whitecurrants Gooseberries, green, yellow and red, four or five Raspberries, red, yellow and semi-wild Strawberries, four plus alpines Blueberries, two Boysenberries (every year, a disappointment) Jostaberry (just bought) Apple (three varieties on a family tree) Cherries, two Pear Gage Rhubarb Grapes, two Kiwi fruit Fig Gojiberry Tayberries, thornless, and not Bramble Loganberry
I'd meant to be out doing (although a week past a debiking, I'm still a bit limited) but it's pretty cold, and not sunny so far. I could always wrap up and get snipping on the rose arch.
