Poor little cats. RIP 3-legged cat, in the happy hunting ground in the sky. And get well soon Eloise. We had a cat many years ago that had an eye removed, and seemed to adapt pretty well.

Oh poor cats but they sound like real characters. Lucie is becoming more bold and is now asking to be let out

How old is Lucie SE?

Billy the cat has only ventured out once since he cam to live with us and then he stayed out all night and I found him on a wall of a house up the road, miaowing. He is still sleeping on our bed, mind you he jumped off last night and slept on top of the stairs.

She's about 8/9 months I think jono. I didn't let her out until she hap been speyed so she had 6 months of being an indoor cat so she was a bit nervous at first so I had to take it slowly. I would leave the window open for her so she could have a good sniff and then I would go out with her for a couple of minutes and one day she just went out and has been exploring more and more of the gardens

I think its more a case of not remembering how to get back down our alley - or he's got learning difficulties

I was surprised to meet my Ollie cat on the way back from a run once - he was much further down out street than I thought his patch extended - about 14 houses down. I wonder how far cats go when they are out? I suspect his range is limited by overlaps with other cats' territories rather than any lack of wish to roam.

There was a brilliant programme on BBC ref a village and they tagged 50 cats to see where they roamed, would be good to find on iPlayer, some of them would make a conscious effort to avoid certain areas, some would roam far and wide and others would keep to their safe zones. That's why we love them all, very individual and unique little characters.

I watched that, loved the idea that they time-shared the territory!
