My two favourite cities answer two recent questions:

I did consider Amsterdam but its just a bit to early in October for me. Its only a week after I return from a 4 week hitch offshore.

Thanks Gritts! They both have good reviews and are places that my support team (Mrs G) would also like to visit.

Cologne for me, glad its flat. I expected the surfaces would be good (and fairly flat) considering they do the inline skating events there as well.

Steady
Those looking for an (early) Autumn Marathon can consider Cape Town. A longer flight and not in Europe, but no time zone issues. And with the exchange rate at nearly 22 Rands to the Pound you can consider making it a cheap extended holiday. Less than 5000 finishers last year, 18 Sept, entry deadline 5 Sept or when 7000 entries received. Also a same day 10 km and 2 trial runs on the slopes of Table Mountain the day before. capetownmarathon.com
