I’m getting so frustrated with the drip feed information! The event guide doesn’t tell us anything new and “make sure you plan your journey to arrive at any one of four places at a precise slot in a three hour window, but we won’t tell you where or when for another week” is honestly just stressing me out.

I know they have a lot to figure out and I am grateful it’s happening at all (*touch wood*) but at the same time… Arg!

I did spot that they want us to drop our kit bag before picking up our numbers and going through the expo, at which point they want to see photo id and presumably want us to spend money in the expo. Not a great way round to do things for those of us who are departing London straight after the finish so anything we have on us after the bag drop either has to be run around the course with or dumped.

Always thought London ran their events pretty well before, but whoever came up with some of the ideas for this year I don't think has ever done a marathon before or experienced it from part of the masses.

It all feels very last minute, ill thought out and done to maximise income rather than safety and enjoyment.

Comp - not sure if you’ve done London before but the starts are really close together. Just plan on getting to Blackheath and walk from there.

Can’t tell you what time of course!!

I guess the naysayers will be along to say otherwise, but I reckon section 6 (Medical Advice) in the VLM Event Guide is pretty good; particularly the pieces on Drinking and Eating.

Doc - Pretty sure you won’t be changing your routine on the basis of it 😁 but, for example, I think the inclusion of references to hyponatraemia is useful and informative.

This is the first year I can remember them not advising people to drink something daft like two pints of water an hour whilst running and have made much more of a point about not drinking too much. Previous years it was all very contradictory statements from their medical experts and an advert for Buxton/Lucozade on the opposite page.
