Agreed Serendippily, if I know it will go to a good home I'm fine with it; I just suspect there will be a lot more debris than normal discarded around the start area.

It’s not needing to take clothing to be discarded at the start that I have a problem with.

LMH I read that as you having no problems stripping and now I’m thinking of almost all my runs with Fleecio which inevitably involve her standing in a car park whipping off her top In all seriousness I’m sorry if vlm and/or covid has mucked it up for you I have a hotel near Waterloo before and after and if anyone needs to use me as bag drop please do fmail me

I'll be taking a spare set of everything which then gets abandoned at a relatives for a couple of months until christmas probably. Without that though I'd be having to leave not just the spare clothes at Blackheath, but a bunch of medical sharps and other medication as well, and then carry a load of chargers for devices around the course or dump them too. I can't be away from various bits of kit for the duration of it being dropped off at the Expo on the Saturday, until I get back to my bag on the Sunday afternoon so have to take duplicates of loads of stuff with me and then do without the spare kit until Christmas.
If London was a looped course it would be a different matter, but being a point to point and having no way of transporting stuff from start to finish makes it very difficult for a lot of people.

Trying to work out if there's anything I can do to help anyone as an 'ambient' supporter, with not having Fetchpoint it's not like I can guarantee being somewhere at some time.
I'll probably spend much of the day drinking, to be honest. Last time I was down the Angerstein in Charlton was very good value on Marathon morning! Pints *and* sausage buns!

i assume the bag drop/transporting to the finish thing is the main reason for changing the Great North run route. I guess that is too difficult for VLM

DocM they say its to limit touch points but are then opening every bag to put a finishers tee, medal and goodies in which imo is more touch points than the old fashioned bag drop.
Did a 10k on Sunday, finish, pick your own medal up from a table grab a flapjack and a bottle of water and away. No problems.

No especially as the did the bag drop for the half a couple of weeks ago. It would be interesting to know the reason behind it because it can't be touch points!
