If the baggage trucks aren’t back next year I won’t be either. London is enough of a faff if you don’t live locally as it is.

I’m sure the local hotels will deem it a success! Lots of people have booked a room they wouldn’t otherwise have done or extended to the Sunday night too so they have somewhere to keep stuff. I’m in the 2nd camp…

Yep I've tagged a Sunday night on to my existing hotel booking. Fortunately I already had the Monday booked off work...

We had always planned to be down for a few days anyway, it’s a long way to come for just one night!

It makes it very expensive though.

I'm a Londoner so will just run the gauntlet of public transport on the day. I'll either bring Mrs Fitz with me to near the start so I can give her my bag of discarded warm over-kit etc. to take away; or just wear old knackered kit over my running gear and discard before the start... which is not very tidy / Green.

Who would have thought? We don’t live in a perfect world! A few, surmountable, logistical hurdles and were off! Hopefully🤞
Any first timers reading this thread and being disheartened by the 🎶“fings ain’t wot they used to be”🎶 whingers: don’t be!
This may be the only ‘London’ you ever get the chance to run. Embrace it, savour it and enjoy it. I reckon you’ll have a great day.
Happy running everyone.

well said SS. There is always some faffage with a big race, just a few more logistical hurdles than we hadn't expected. When the big day comes im sure we will have a great day, and who knows, maybe less spectators or runners might make it comfortably busy instead of too busy

It may not go to waste Fitz. I lost a running top I really liked at Brighton. I normally wear a top layer and take it off and tie it round my waist once I start to run (not an elite, can you tell, it’s the equivalent of having a bicycle with a basket and a bell ) Seeing everyone else tie a layer to the railings I did the same, only to find out that means it can be collected for charity. It was a good layer so hopefully someone did well out of it.
