I'd have thought it will be a fair walk. When I've watched stage finishes in france I've ended up 2km plus out to get a view, and harrogate will be busier than that. Much busier.

Thanks for that - we've got a fan screen at Harrogate School but would obviously like to see the whole show go past and stock up with a load of new 2014 Tour tat - giant green hands, polka dot caps, haribo, tiny keyrings, etc, etc

I'm expecting it to be too busy to get much tat on Saturday. Plans for a visit to a quieter place (relatively, lots of others with same idea!) on Sunday.

Quandary for Monday. Do I take the day off and watch the start in Cambridge as "sorry but I can;t get to the station" or do I fight my way into London and see the finish?
