I can't afford to pay £225 (?) for a 100 miler, not even this one, and I don't think it's fair to ask people to donate their hard-earned money to support my hobby even if it does go to charity.

From what i've seen from the facebook page - there's a lot of gullible runners out there - a simple read of the information that's been available recently would help settle the onset panic as people claim to have their money taken.

Given i don't race much - the charity 'option' wouldn't bother me as i'm not forking out great amounts of cash per year on races! That and the fact you get the £100 back if you raise it which i assume to most wouldn't be to hard to get.

I'm just looking forward to the usual social media posts after the ballot with the successful posting happy posts and the unsuccessful asking why they can't just up the numbers ;-)

Just a quick question for those who have run either race - i'm in the lakes in October and was planning a run from Ambleside to Conniston. Starting fresh and taking it easy, how long should i expect it to take?
From checking the checkpoint info, if i read it correctly is about 15-16m and has a couple of decent climbs.

Thanks zp - much appreciated. I'm assuming the large climb from around 11 or so miles includes the steps part that i've seen on youtube videos?

Yeah, that’ll be the steps up from Tilberthwaite. They’re not that bad, steep but brief :)

Better to get them at 11m rather than 100 ;-)

Even with the charity additionaI amoynt I think the UTLD100 is still value for money.

Although if I get a charity place I will aim for more than the £100.
