Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I'll be officially withdrawing from this tomorrow. Been nursing an injury since the TR250 & its nowhere healed up enough for this bugger of a race. Tis a shame, I was actually quite well prepared for it. See you all next year instead.

Looking positive on the weather forecast, light rain and not warm. Ideal conditions.

Just finalising my pack for the 50. What constitutes a passable first aid kit? I have a LifeSystems kit, but to be honest I wouldn't use half of it. Are there compulsory items?

Bugger Ogee - that's a shame.

I'm feeling much more prepared than I thought I would for this. I'm so glad I did the UT110km a month back - the idea of that was that it would be a good last long training run on similar terrain, plus the starting at midnight (+15!) element would be useful also. It went really well despite a dodgy 10 mile section where I felt like crap, but I came through that and had a good run/amble. Generally overall mileage is a bit down but I've done plenty of miles on hills and fells, long runs pacing on Centurion 100 milers and a good 30km fell type race 2 Saturdays ago in the Yorkshire Dales.

Apart from a drive down south and back on Thursday, the rest of this week is generally going to be a little lazy (helps being between jobs!) - lie in on Friday, bit of last minute food shopping on the way to Coniston and fish and chips and a snooze on Friday afternoon.

All the best folks!
