has anyone got a book of different cast on cast off stitches? I only ever do the same one and have no idea what it's called at that!

Well played game of yarn chicken EP! I have this: amazon.co.uk which is great, yes they are all available online etc etc, but I find I don't bother looking up different versions online and just stick to what I originally learnt. But with the book I actively think about what sort if edge I want at start and finish.. |

I have that one too, and have been amazed at the different ways you can start and finish your knitting. I do have to say though, I still tend to use the same old cast on/cast offs I've always used.

Strange question I have some long leggings that I like but are a bit too long really- how easy would it be to reduce the leg length? I assume I'd need to use a "stretchy" stitch but no idea what that means!! Any ideas? |

Depends on your machine Pix. If you have a basic machine you can use zig-zag, but lots of machines now offer a variety of stretch hems. Hopefully your machine handbook should advise which is best. (It's actually quite easy to do)

I do have loads of stitches! So do I just hem with a zig zag style of stitch?
