@flanker If it's the original (V1) Helvellyn carbon you mean, (rather than the later pro ones which have bright blue bits on) I've found a pole you can have.

fmail me your address and I'll stick it in the post if it will help.

(If I get around to replacing the 'pro' pair with something that doesn't keep collapsing on me, there'll be one of those too wtf don't they sell them in singles like others do? )

You are a star. It is the original adjustable one I need, so it should help! Happy to cover the postage.

I'm tempted to move to Alpkit poles when I eventually replace these. Look very similar, not **too** expensive, and you can buy a single pole!

Alpkit head torches are great quality so hopefully their poles would be too.

I was thinking that the best headtorch I had was my Alpkit one and for the price it’s a bargain. I now have the fenix which is bright as anything but I’m finding it heavy and gives me a headache.

I've had mixed experiences with Alpkit gear over the years. It feels like it's more flaky these days.

GG, which one have you got, as I'll need a new all-night torch and the new Nao isn't grabbing me?

I was going to get the Alpkit poles when we were in Keswick before xmas, but they were out of stock then and still are.
They are better at helping to mend things than Harrier.

Its the Fenix HM65R-T its phenomenal, so so bright. I think I had it on with a buff last time and woolly hat last night so was probably too tight. It hasn't been an issue previously.

This seems the cheapest at the moment hillanddaleoutdoors.co.uk

I've not had the alpkit torch for over 10years I loved it but hubby bought me a Petzl when it died and I didn't have heart to tell him it wasn't as good as the alpkit.

I also have the LedLenser NE05R which is a good lightweight torch, not as bright and is now a great back up. Both are rechargeable.

Thanks. Been wondering about that one for a while, but not keen on the dual spots. It seems unnecessary, and feel I'll miss the wider beam of the Petzl flood bulb. Probably need to try one out at some point.

Got something to say?
