I've signed up for it. Hoping to be able to multi-task!! :)

I read a great article in Bushcraft magazine about these guys and a trip they ran in Canada in the Algonquin Park. One of these days we hope to be able to do something like that; paddling Canadian Canoes in Canada has been on our wishlist for 20 years.

Interesting...hubby grew up in that part of Canada AC. He used to camp in Algonquin Park as a teenager in the summer...with a rifle handy so the wildlife didn't eat him.

I learned to kayak at Salford Quays. I suspect our instructor might have had weaponry to protect us from the local ‘wildlife’ as well.

Good idea. I know Scribbler blogged about SUP at the weekend.

I was out on the lough on Saturday. I only stayed out for about an hour because the wind was stronger than I thought it was going to be. I pulled the kayak up on the grass and went back to the bungalow for something to eat. I left it until later in the evening when the wind subsided enough to make paddling pleasurable, rather than an ordeal. I did about 6 miles altogether.

I do need to get myself a better paddle though. Mine is just the one that came with the kayak and a lighter one would make life easier, I think.
