I agree you have to drink an awful lot to overhydrate, as your body is very efficient at getting rid of the water it doesn't need - but any fluid counts, tap water can be made drinkable with a squeeze of lemon juice - but I'd still rather have a cup of tea - except at mealtimes when I don't want to chelate the iron and other minerals mysportscience.com |

Don’t know why but I’ve had a terrible day today. So hungry. Cycle tonight but it’ll be my first mega blowout. Go again tomorrow.

One of the fitness guru's, can't remember his name, suggested no intake of fluids during meals. Not sure of the science. His name has just come back to me, Maffetone. |

A common theme I read is to drink a glass or two of water before eating as it's supposed to supress your appetite or make you feel full sooner.

yes azx - that sould help - in the same way as having soup for a starter helps cut the rest of the meal size down

Reading about drinking water I'm with Rosehip about not understanding how it can aid weight loss (not read any articles so its ignorance on my part rather than disagreeing with the concept). And like Hanneke, I've always understood and used the rule of thumb that if your urine isn't colourless (or close to), you probably aren't drinking enough. Speaking of which .. after lunch I decided it was time to mow our lawns. It was warmer than expected and I've worked up a thirst so am now sat in front of the 'puter with a cup of tea. Need my caffeine intake first but have my bottle of water on standby! ![]() |
