And now it sees the Garmin, goes through the upload process then concludes there are no new data. On top of that it has imported onld data multiple times taking October last year from 34miles to 102!

The "Could not set the value property. Not enough storage is available to complete this operation" is IE-specific, firefox under windows does exactly what you describe (though without the multiple old data loads).
