Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

Goodness me look how long it has been since last post.

Rally cry to the troops!

How are we all doing?
@GimmeMedals @Alice the Camel @lammo @Ness

Got weighed at PT session today first time in 6 weeks as G revamped gym and moved scales to side room so forgot about it. I gained 3lbs in that time.So I have come home and written menu for the day and I will not divert from it.

Hello! Sorry I haven't checked in for a while. I was away on holiday in August for a short break to celebrate the Ness 29th wedding anniversary. Surprisingly when I got home and did a weight check I had STS! We did do quite a lot of walking while I was away though.

Next weight check is on Wednesday so hopefully it'll still be the same. 🤞

Hope everyone else is doing ok.

Sounds great Ness on the holiday and weighing front.

I'm back at work today after2 weeks of much needed holiday.

Elbow is improving nicely, although i don't yet have a full range of motion, the doc and physio have both said they are happy with progress.

I also seem to be fully recovered from my brief bout of covid.

Strangely, despite not being able to get right hand to my face for almost 4 weeks i am heavy, but work started on that today.

We've booked next years summer holiday, and i will need to look respectable in my swimmers, so needs must.

So aside from work and my weight all good :-)

Sounds positive about the elbow, lammo. And the recovery after covid.

Mr Ness and I have a couple of holidays booked. A short break on Menorca in October and a longer holiday on Gran Canaria in January. For both I'd like to have a swim in the sea and am thinking about taking my wetsuit. Need to be sure it still fits!

Helloooo, my fellow IKWYDLSers 👋
This month has flown by. I started off doing well but then Alice came to stay :) We've had a really grand time together but I've used it as an excuse to show her all my favourite cafes and we've lived the seaside holiday life for a week so the weight I'd lost earlier has all gone back on. BUT we have a plan and are starting again tomorrow.
On the plus side, we've been doing Walk the Sum so have logged a good haul of steps each day.

How is everyone?

I've had a very focused week - calorie deficit every day for a week; 3 runs done including today's "long" 6 miler and I've even managed a gym session 😇
I've not fitted in any additional cardio - early morning sea dips have taken priority as I love the way I feel during and afterwards. It's a sunset dip today for a change. My sleep is improving and this may be why.

That sounds a great week GM and I like the idea of a sunset dip and sleeping.

My sleep is suffering bigtime for passed month and taking it's toll on me. Also I am still struggling post effects with Covid and then hip decides to give me grief.
But good news I lost a pound....LOL
Ice tub going well , but running is rubbish.
I need to be put down .

A mixed bag there, Wp.

I cried off the sunset sea dip because it was raining quite heavily and so we wouldn't have seen the sunset. Plus, I'd already had a bath after my long run and going out to get rained on and cold didn't appeal once I was in my PJs.

👋

Just checking in.

Well done on being focused, GM. The swims sound great but I wouldn't have fancied this evening in the rain.

Hope you can get back to a more settled sleep pattern, WP.

I didn't do a weight check this morning. Will get back to that after my race weekends. My training is going well at the moment. I have a half marathon on Sunday but don't expect to get a fast time. Will be just going along to enjoy it.

HOW: Improve diet - have you done the maths and considered in detail what you need to do?

Why 15 mpw? It’s nice to focus on the process but very easy to ignore without a why - “consistent running will improve PBs”? Will you do 5 x 3 or 3 x 5?

Fraggle: TBC

Welsh Poppy:

Back in my OMM rain jacket by 31st December

Body fat at 22%

HOW: I will do this by sticking to

1799 calories a day

111g protein( as per JSA)

3 strength training a week(JSA)

6 runs

1 boot camp

Alice the Camel: GOALS

1. Lose 10kg by December. Use My Fitness Pal to record calories - MFP suggests 1200 cals /day.

2. Train for and run Great South Run (currently only running max 4 miles). Run 3x per week - 1 parkrun distance, 1 easy, 1 longer run.

3. 10000 steps a day (I know it’s an arbitrary number but it will focus my efforts to move more!)

Sweetie:

Goal: Lose 8-10lbs before Christmas

1850 calories per day

Not to exceed sugar target on MFP

3 walks per week (in additional to regular training plan - I can swim/bike/run and shift nothing but with walking the weight seems to go quite rapidly)
1 x yoga per week (not related to weight loss but need to get back into regular stretching).

Lammo:

Lose 8 kg by end of year

Exercise for 7 hours per week (i'd rather not include walking, but am sure i will to start with)

How: No snacks, less sugar, more fruit and veg, also making better use of my time for being active.

Angus:

WHAT? Weigh 100kg by the time we get back from Sardinia (mid-Oct)

HOW? No booze, no crisps, better eating habits, drink more water, get more sleep.

WHAT? Weigh 90kg by Christmas.

HOW? Start running again.

WHAT? Start running again.

HOW? Walk every day for 4 weeks. Maybe C25K?

Rosehip:

Goal lose a stone by May 2023

Process:

Join gym and weight train 2x week

Back to 100 mile months and to 200 miles by end May

1600-1700 cals, + extra on long run days

Increase lean protein in diet

Spend less time on sofa.

Jaks:

I’d like to lose a pound a week up to Christmas by cutting out sweets, biscuits, cake and crisps. Really need to eat healthier and I like the idea of having accountability on here.

Gimmie Medals:

I want to:

Lose 10kg by Christmas

Run 5k comfortably (might include jeffing, but it’s the comfortable bit I’m after)

I’m doing it by:

10k steps a day (I’ve just hit my longest streak of 18 days)

Counting calories on MFP (Daily calories as per JSA calculator)

3 x resistance exercise sessions each week

3 x runs a week including a parkrun or 5k
