Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

As I sit here with the heating on, rain battering the windows I’m thinking maybe I need to get some flanci leggings (love thing pockets) just in case outlaw in July feels like February!

You've been weathered out of an event in late July before, Pix. Make sure you're equipped.

hmm, looking at snow on Helvellyn today and the hailstorms at the end of July in previous years, I'm wondering whether having winter leggings available might not be a bad idea for July too

- although I'm rather assuming that with all our training being done in the cold/windy and wet we'll be resented with a day in the 30s

The year I did the 50, the 100 had a huge dropout rate due to hideous weather on the first night.

I think once started I could cope with cold and wet better than 30C and humid, it's the getting started in horrid weather that's hard

My sleeves arrived yesterday while my eye was getting zapped! They are a bit thicker than I had expected but love them so will give them a go šŸ‘

I agree with V-rap! Pack some warm stuff, just in case... For the sake of a woolly hat and gloves and, arm sleeves! In your transition box...

I've decided that a skort is not the thing for an ultra as putting waterproof trews over the top doesn't work - I was briefly tempted by a waterproof over-skirt, but then decided if it was cold enough to worry about getting wet, it was cold enough for full wets.
