I was hoping for some good videos this morning as the hogs had been very busy, sadly the batteries in both cameras ran low so didn’t get much :-(

On the one hand we like the fact that we get badgers, and have even stared one down at the front door last year.

On the other hand, they dig horrendous holes in our lawn on a regular basis. I'm reliably informed male urine is part of a solution to discouraging them, but I've never been tempted to develop a usuable supply for distribution.

Oddly very few hedgehogs - only spotted one in the 15 years we've lived here. Some frogs, and of course bats at this time of year - think they're my favourite!

Fragile Do Not Bend
I must get the trail camera out again to check for hogs.

For a couple of years we put the leftover cat food outside every night and between the hedgehogs and foxes it always got eaten. But a couple of months ago it stopped getting eaten :(

We also get badgers and the occasional deer.

No bat boxes, they just live around here somewhere. Got accompanied by one on a run a couple of nights ago, it seemed to enjoy following the direction of my headtorch!

We're not too far from a church and some other older buildings so I presume the bats live there, but they're always flying around the back of our house in the twilight.

Can't beat that deer though!!

Must have just missed the badger last night as I would have locked up shortly after this.

Ooh, nice visitor larkim :-)

The resident hedgehog was really busy topping up her nest in the hog house with newspaper and straw for almost an hour before dawn, she must be exhausted. Feeding station was really busy too with several sightings of two hedgehogs dining together :-)

Apparently if anyone is thinking about buying the Aldi hedgehog houses, don't as the hogs can get stuck in them.

I'm currently looking at this: rspb.org.uk to see if I can build one.

2 sheets of plywood a bit thinner than the stuff they use is about ~£25, so not too bad.
